Privacy Policy

Our privacy promise.

Beginner Bookworms is a literacy nonprofit. We do not sell personal information, and we do not build this site to profit from children’s data.

Last updated August 30, 2026

Our goal is to provide books, worksheets, and Wormy AI learning support in a safe, respectful, and kid-friendly way.

Children’s privacy and parent or teacher approval

Beginner Bookworms is designed for children, families, teachers, and schools. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 unless it is approved, directed, or supervised by a parent, guardian, teacher, or school. This policy is intended to follow the spirit of children’s privacy protections such as the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which gives parents control over personal information collected from children online.

Information we may collect

  • Basic website usage information, such as pages visited or worksheet activity, to understand what tools are helpful and to keep the site working.
  • Account progress information, such as completed worksheets, scores, badges, and streaks, if a parent, teacher, school, or approved user creates or manages an account.
  • Messages typed into Wormy AI only as needed to provide literacy help, improve safety, or fix educational errors.
  • Email information only when someone chooses to contact Beginner Bookworms directly or submits a bug report with an email address.
  • Bug report details, optional screenshots, browser information, and page context so we can identify and fix problems.

Information children should not share

Children should not share full names, home addresses, phone numbers, passwords, school names, precise locations, private family information, medical information, financial information, or photos that reveal private details. Wormy AI is designed to stay focused on reading, writing, vocabulary, and comprehension help.

How information is used

  • To provide worksheets, reading help, writing feedback, and age-appropriate learning support.
  • To save progress when an approved account feature is used.
  • To improve safety, prevent spam, fix bugs, and make the website easier for children, families, and teachers to use.
  • To respond to emails, support requests, bug reports, or suggestions.
  • To protect the site from abuse, bots, unauthorized access, fraud, or malicious activity.

No selling personal data

Beginner Bookworms does not sell personal information. We do not want children’s learning data used for unrelated advertising, behavioral targeting, or data brokerage. Any analytics, security, or safety tools should be used only to protect and improve the learning experience.

Security

We use reasonable security measures such as HTTPS, CAPTCHA protections, access controls, and spam prevention tools to help protect the site. No website can promise perfect security, but Beginner Bookworms works to reduce risk and respond quickly to issues.

Parent, guardian, and teacher requests

A parent, guardian, or teacher may contact us to ask questions, request deletion of submitted information, or report a privacy concern. We will review reasonable requests and respond as soon as possible.
